The 186 Turbo is the logical evolution of our popular
ML182T. It combines the efficiencies and economies of that legendaray model
with greatly improved speed: 36% faster than before! To ensure that you get
precise characters (even on the last page of a 5-part form), the 186 Turbo
has OKIDATA's patented optical sensor that accurately positions the
printhead. And, to make the precision last, ML186T sports our
rack-and-pinion drive system plus a redesigned 200 million-character printhead -- bigger and sturdier, for twice the life of many printers in its
class.
The only true demand-document printer in its class
Difficult media. Hard-to-handle forms. With the 186
Turbo, virtually any sheet-fed or continuous form can be printed without
waste -- or wait. Unlike other industrial and POS printers, the 186 Turbo
offers both bottom-feed and short-tear paper handling standard -- so you can
remove forms right at the perforation every time. No more wasting the next
form. The 186 Turbo's pinfeed platen moves card stock and labels
effortlessly, along with multi-part forms up to 9.5" wide. And, while
competitive printers have difficulty printing three-part forms, the 186
Turbo prints five -- with each copy just as readable as the original. A
short, straight paper path reduces the liklihood of jamming: continuous
forms and single sheet paper, like letterhead, feed smoothly through the
rear or top. The optional Pull Tractor Kit handles media from 3" to 9.5"
wide.
Performance under pressure -- at breathtaking speeds
Whatever the need, whatever the workload, the 186 Turbo
sets an impressive pace. Stand back and watch as invoices, shop tickets,
receipts, memos, even drafts are kicked out, super-fast. Select any of four
speed settings and get a quality product in less time than with our 182T.
Fastest is the blazing 300 characters-per-second (cps) "super speed" draft
mode, following by the 240 cps high-speed draft, 200 cps utility, and the
near-letter quality of 50 cps. When speed counts, count on the 186 Turbo to
deliver.
A built-in serial interface goes a long way
If you process information over long distances, make the
186 Turbo your serial printer. It can save you time and needless additional
expense. Just specify the factory-configured Super Speed Serial RS232-C
interface. You can boost productivity at a 19.2K baud rate, and support XON/XOFF
and Ready/Busy protocols.
